Throw me down

Hands on my throat

Stomped to the ground
I will persevere
You may feel stronger
I will persevere
You get your kicks
I will persevere
I was a mistake
I will persevere
I’m not them

I’m too different
I will persevere
You say I’m too small
I will persevere
You say I’m too weak
I will persevere
I’ll never be anything
I will persevere
Look in the mirror
See what I see
You became “me”
I have persevered
